This unique piece in white gold showcases several of the Rare Handcrafts techniques and draws inspiration from the historic pocket watches set with pearls and diamonds. The engraver began his work by engraving the two backgrounds and the caseband according to the motifs comprising his design. The enameller then created the outlines of these volutes using about 0.52 m of gold wire (~0.52 g) before filling the cavities in the decoration with enamels in two colors, one transparent and the other opaque, applied in several coats.
