Drawing inspiration from the oil-on-canvas “The Monarch of the Glen” (1851) by the English painter Edwin Landseer (1802¬–1873), this unique piece in white gold pays tribute to the beauty of the Scottish countryside in which the stag reigns supreme. The artisan recreated this work in miniature painting on enamel using 14 colors, of which 6 were blended shades. His great mastery of his art enabled him to reproduce the misty atmosphere of the scene, the animal’s glossy coat and even the fine details of the blades of grass.
